Bangladesh receives one offer in 50,000 tonne wheat tender (updated)

(Adds detail)
    HAMBURG/DHAKA, May 23 (Reuters) - Bangladesh's state grains
buyers on Monday received only one offer in an international
tender to import 50,000 tonnes of wheat, officials from the
country's grain purchasing agency and European traders said.
Trading house Agrocorp was the only participant and the
price offered was $548.38 a tonne CIF liner out, they said.
Liner out costs include ship unloading costs for the wheat
seller.
No purchase has yet been made and the offer is still being
considered.
The offer was up from the $399.19 a tonne CIF liner out paid
by Bangladesh in its last wheat tender on April 11.
Bangladesh has previously been a major importer of wheat
from India, which recently banned wheat exports, seriously
tightening supplies in Asian markets. urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nL5N2X84XZ
The South Asian country is among importers also hit by
disruption to Ukrainian and Russian grain exports and surging
prices of wheat and other commodities caused by the conflict
between the two countries. GRA/
