SARAJEVO, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Bosnia's second-largest power
utility ERS ERST.BJ said on Wednesday it wanted to buy 37,440
megawatt-hours (MWh) of baseload electricity to meet demand in
the first week October.
ERS provides power to Serb-dominated parts of Bosnia, while
Sarajevo-based EPBiH JPES.SJ and Mostar-based EPHZHB JPEM.SJ
operate in Bosnia's other autonomous region, the Bosniak-Croat
Federation.
ERS invited international and domestic bidders to submit
offers by Thursday.
Bosnia gets 40 percent of its electricity from hydro power
with the rest coming from coal-fired plants. Protracted drought
has lowered water levels across the Western Balkans, hitting
hydro power output. L8N1LG2BH
The 300 MW Ugljevik coal-fired power plant RTEU.BJ , run by
ERS, is also undergoing a three-month regular overhaul which
started in July. L8N1IV27Q .
