** World No. 2 cement maker Holcim HOLN.S has secured EU antitrust approval for its €1.85 billion ($2.14 billion)acquisition of German walling systems maker Xella after pledging to sell a Romanian business, the European Commission said on Friday.

** Private equity firm Oakley Capital said on Friday it does not intend to make an offer for Gamma Communications GAMA.L , dropping out of the race for the British telecoms firm.
