Indra sees 'positive' Middle East impact from defence demand

April 30 (Reuters) - Indra's  IDR.MC Chief Executive Officer Jose Vicente de los Mozos said the impact of the escalating conflict in the Middle East "can only be positive" for the Spanish defence and technology firm, citing strong demand for defence systems.

In an earnings call, he said that the company sees delivery opportunities through its joint venture with Abu Dhabi's Edge, which designs, manufactures and exports next‑generation radar systems from the United Arab Emirates.

"There's demand especially for defence systems and what we're working on is the delivery of some elements that we can deliver this year," he told reporters.

De los Mozos added that Indra aims to have 12 to 15 radars ready for delivery by year-end, reflecting efforts to accelerate internationalization through increased R&D investment.

Earlier on Thursday, the company posted a quarterly profit jump on its defence business, new mobility contracts and acquisition-led growth in the space unit.
