Gucci's return to growth in China will take several months to a year -Kering CEO

FLORENCE, April 16 (Reuters) - Gucci has neglected the Chinese market in previous years and its return to growth there will take several months to a year, Kering PRTP.PA CEO Luca de Meo said on Thursday.

De Meo, who was speaking to journalists after presenting his strategic plan to turn around the French luxury group, said Gucci has at times used the market as a "trash bin" to maximise quick profits.

De Meo added that European luxury brands should be wary of China's innovative power, as more shoppers there turn to local brands.
