ROME, June 4 (Reuters) - Italian unions said on Thursday they had reached an agreement with Kering to prevent unilateral layoffs at Alexander McQueen's Italian production sites, easing a dispute over planned job cuts at the British luxury label.
Under the agreement, any termination of employment will be voluntary and incentivised, the Filctem Cgil, Femca Cisl and Uiltec Uil trade unions said.
Alexander McQueen workers have voted unanimously in favour of the agreement, they added.
On May 20, unions called a strike across the French luxury group's Italian operations to protest against what they said was a lack of clarity over Kering's strategy and 54 planned job cuts at Alexander McQueen.
Earlier this week, Kering appointed former Prada brand CEO Gianfranco D'Attis as Chief Executive of the struggling brand.
