TOKYO, June 5 (Reuters) - Japanese microchip equipment
maker Lasertec 6920.T said on Wednesday it "clearly" denies an
allegation of improper accounting practices raised by Scorpion
Capital.
"Earlier today, Scorpion Capital LLC issued a report
alleging that Lasertec Corporation committed improper accounting
practices and there is some media reporting related to it in
circulation," Lasertec said in a statement.
"However, we clearly deny the allegation of improper
accounting practices."
Ahead of the Lasertec announcement, shares of the
semiconductor gear maker closed down 7.5%.
