Wentworth Resources surges to near 6-yr high on buyout deal

** Shares of Wentworth Resources Plc WEN.L jump 26% to
31.50p, their highest since February 2017
** Tanzania-based natural gas producer says co to be bought
by France's M&P MAUP.PA for about 61.7 mln pounds ($75.8 mln)
** Offer of 32.5p/share represents a 30% premium to the
stock's Friday closing price of 25p
** WEN says the current offer is substantially higher than
M&P's original offer on Sept. 23
** M&P stock up about 2% in early trade
** Including session gains, WEN up about 36% YTD
($1 = 0.8144 pounds)
