POLITICS
General Roberto Vannacci launched his new far-right party on Sunday, posing a direct challenge to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's grip on power as he seeks to pull Italy in a more hardline, nationalist direction ahead of elections next year.
ECONOMY
Bank of Italy said on Friday the Italian economy will grow by 0.6% this year and 0.4% in 2027, confirming its previous estimate for 2026 but trimming next year's outlook from a 0.5% projection made in early April.
Italy's average EU-harmonised consumer price inflation rate (HICP) should come in this year at 3.1%, the central bank report added, sharply up from the 2.6% it had forecast in April.
ISTAT releases April foreign trade and import prices data (0800 GMT).
Bank of Italy publishes statistical supplement on public borrowing requirement and debt for April.
DEBT
Treasury starts the offer to retail investors of its 5-year "BTP Italia Sì", due June 2031; the offer runs until June 19 unless closed early (0700 GMT).

The Italian bank dismissed on Monday as groundless suggestions by Commerzbank CBKG.DE that the real take-up in its exchange offer to take over the German lender is lower than data show.

The government has no plans to interfere in merger or takeover moves on MPS through its so-called 'golden powers', deputy premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in an interview with Milano Finanza on Saturday.
MPS CEO Luigi Lovaglio could present to a board meeting on June 22 defensive moves against Intesa's takeover bid that may involve Banco BPM, Corriere della Sera daily reported on Saturday. Banco BPM has proposed a merger of equals with MPS.

The Franco-Italian carmaker is looking for an industrial partner at its Cassino assembly plant in central Italy, daily Il Giornale reported on Monday, adding there may be updates on the plant's future in the final months of 2026.
FERRARI RACE.MI
Lewis Hamilton celebrated an emotional first grand prix victory with Ferrari in Spain on Sunday to end Kimi Antonelli's five-race run of success and become, at 41, Formula One's oldest winner since Australian Jack Brabham in 1970.
(*) Morgan Stanley raised on Monday its recommendation on Ferrari stock to 'Overweight' from 'Equal weight' and the target price to €380.
TELECOM ITALIA TLIT.MI
The reverse stock split of the group's shares, announced by the Italian telecoms group said on June 10 at a ratio of 1 new ordinary share for every 10, is effective on Monday. The reference price is therefore €7.886.

Jefferies raised its recommendation on the stock to 'Buy' from 'Hold' and the target price to €70 from €61.

The energy group's CEO Nicola Monti said Italy's gas storage levels were in line with the seasonal average, whereas elsewhere in Europe the summer months would be "complicated" to manage due to the need to replenish stocks.
"Unlike our continental partners, we have not relaxed safety parameters, keeping the target at 90% before the winter withdrawal season," he told daily La Stampa in an interview.

Shareholders in rival Italian TV tower companies Rai Way and EI Towers are likely to continue negotiating the terms of a potential merger beyond the expiry on Monday of an exclusivity period, two sources familiar with the matter said on Sunday.
The sources said the parties were seeking to narrow significant gaps on key issues. These include a request by Italian state broadcaster RAI, which holds a 65% stake in Rai Way, to secure a 15-year extension beyond 2037 of EI Towers' contract with Mediaset, the broadcaster that owns 40% of EI Towers, one of the sources said.
FERRETTI YACHT.MI
The yachtmaker, which last week denied it was in talks to buy rival The Italian Sea Group TISGR.MI, "is currently evaluating some (M&A) opportunities", CEO Stassi Anastassov told Milano Finanza weekly on Saturday. Anastassov also said the war in the Middle East had not triggered any order cancellations. On the contrary, orders, some of high value, increased in the second quarter, he said.

Elliott-backed specialty lender Banca CF+ said on Friday it held a stake of 85.7% in the Italy-based commercial bank at the end of its mandatory public tender and exchange offer.
