POLITICS
Italy's Senate has postponed debate on a landmark bill that would stipulate for the first time that sex without consent constitutes rape, exposing tensions within Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's coalition.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases November consumer and business confidence data (0900 GMT) and September industry sales data (1000 GMT).
DEBT
Treasury sells 2.25-2.75 billion euros 2.85% BTP bonds due Feb. 1, 2031; 2.25-2.75 billion euros 3.45% BTP bonds due Feb. 1, 2036; 3.5-4.0 billion euros new CCTeu bonds due April 15, 2035. Subscriptions close at 1000 GMT.

European regulators are pressing Italian banks to reduce their holdings of domestic sovereign bonds, Intesa Sanpaolo ISP.MI CEO Carlo Messina said in an interview with Il Sole 24 Ore newspaper published on Thursday.
Messina also underscored potential for further consolidation in the Italian banking sector but ruled out any involvement for Intesa, Italy's largest bank. He reiterated the bank's ambition to expand in the asset management sector, but dismissed speculation of a deal with leading Italian insurer Generali GASI.MI.
Italy is considering an additional increase in the IRAP corporate tax applied to domestic banks to help finance costly amendments to next year’s budget, political sources said.
The draft budget already raises the IRAP rate for banks and insurance companies by two percentage points. Rome is now evaluating a further 0.5-percentage-point hike, but only for major lenders, the sources added.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
Chinese battery maker CATL 300750.SZ started building Spain's largest battery factory on Wednesday, a 4.1-billion-euro project with Stellantis that highlights Europe's reliance on Chinese technology even as Brussels seeks to tighten trade rules.

The state-backed financial conglomerate said on Wednesday it had issued a senior unsecured bond worth 750 million euros under its 2.5 billion euro Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme.

The TV group controlled by Italy's Berlusconi family said on Wednesday it had agreed to buy a 32.9% stake in Portuguese media company Impresa IMPA.LS, noting that the transaction would have no impact on 2025 financial year forecasts.
