The carmaker terminated its supply deal with Australia's Alliance Nickel AXN.AX for battery-grade nickel and cobalt from the NiWest project, effective December 3, citing missed milestone deadlines, the miner said.

The European Union needs to be "flexible" on the 2035 deadline to stop the sale of combustion engine cars and needs safeguards against Chinese car production sites in Europe, EU Industry Commissioner Stephane Sejourne told newspaper La Stampa in an interview published on Friday.

PIRELLI PIRC.MI

The Italian tyremaker said on Thursday its operating profit remained broadly stable year-on-year in the third quarter and confirmed its outlook, weathering the impact of tariffs and foreign exchange volatility.

In a call with analysts, Executive Vice Chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera said Pirelli faced a U.S.-related March 17 deadline to solve its governance issues with its Chinese investor Sinochem 600500.SS.

BANCO BPM BAMI.MI

Italy's third-largest bank on Thursday posted a higher-than-expected quarterly profit helped by higher net fees following its recent purchase of fund manager Anima Holding, which more than offset falling income from lending.

In a call with analysts, CEO Giuseppe Castagna said the bank was not working on any M&A deals and denied ever holding talks with Credit Agricole on buying its Italian network or on any merger plans.

   (*) The Tuscan lender on Friday posted a surprise rise in third quarter profit and said it would present a new strategy in the first quarter of 2026 following the acquisition of peer Mediobanca MDBI.MI.
