MFE nine-month operating profit dips as Spanish ad sales falter

MILAN, Nov 20 (Reuters) - MFE-MediaForEurope MFEB.MI, the commercial broadcaster controlled by Italy's Berlusconi family, on Thursday reported a drop in operating profit for the first nine months of the year, hit by weak advertising sales and lower margins in Spain.

The company said its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were down to 61.3 million euros ($70.65 million)in the nine months ending September 30, from 127 million euros the year before.

That compared with a company-provided analyst consensus forecast of 43 million euros.
