BERLIN, June 30 (Reuters) - German forklift truck maker Kion
KGX.DE has lost in the bidding for Japanese rival UniCarriers
INCJPG.UL , Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported on Tuesday,
without citing the source of the information.
UniCarriers is now in exclusive talks with Mitsubishi
Nichiyu 7105.T which will probably get the nod, the newspaper
said in a preview of an article to be published in Wednesday's
edition.
A spokesman for Kion declined comment on speculation.
Reuters reported in late March that Kion and Mitsubishi
Heavy Industries 7011.T were in talks to buy UniCarriers for
up to 100 billion yen, citing a source familiar with the matter.

UniCarriers is strong in Japan and in the United States
where Kion, which has been steadily growing through acquisitions
over the past years, has only a small presence.
