Copper miner MMG hits 6-week peak on strong Q1 operations

** Shares of copper miner MMG Ltd 1208.HK jump 8.2% to HK$9.14, their highest point since March 11

** Stock set for biggest one-day pct rise since April 8; top pct gainer in the Hang Seng Composite Index tracking materials stocks .HSCIM, which falls 1.3%

** MMG says its total copper production rose 9% y/y to 128,698 tonnes in Q1 2026, gold production jumped 24% to 32,177 ounces, and silver up 27% to 2.89 mln ounces

** Of this, copper production from Las Bambas rose 6% y/y to  101,003 tonnes in Q1 - co

** All operations delivered stable production during the first quarter and remain on track to achieve full-year guidance - co

** Citi maintains "buy" on the stock on strong 1Q26 production

** YTD, stock up 3.7%, benchmark Hang Seng Index .HSI up 1.9%
