Jan 14 (Reuters) - Mining firm MMG Ltd 1208.HK said on
Tuesday it expects operations would resume at its Dugald River
zinc mine in Queensland after an approaching grassfire near its
perimeter was contained.
MMG, backed by state-owned China Minmetals Corporation, did
not reveal to Reuters any impact to its production or changes to
its annual forecast from Dugald River, which produced more than
150,000 metric ton zinc in fiscal 2023.
Bloomberg News had earlier reported that production at the
zinc mine was halted following an approaching bushfire, and
cited a spokesperson stating that there were no expectations of
a material impact to the miner's full-year production.
Shares of the Chinese miner fell 0.4% to HK$2.66 by 0244
GMT.
