Brazil industrial maintenance and assembly workers strike at oil platforms, union says RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Brazilian workers in Rio de Janeiro's industrial maintenance and assembly sectors have begun a strike that includes employees at oil platforms, local union SINTPICC-RJ said on Friday.
Brazil's state-run oil firm Petrobras PETR3.SA has said its oil platforms continue to produce normally, and that it is following negotiations between its contractors and the striking workers.
Workers are striking over a deadlock in labor negotiations with employers, the union said in a statement.
According to the union, strikes at oil platforms do not necessarily affect production.
