    ECONOMY
    Italian state lender CDP's shareholders gave their green
light to the distribution of dividends on 2021 results worth 1.3

    POLITICS
    Energy companies will have to pay by June 40% of a one-off
windfall tax introduced by the Italian government to help
consumers and business cope with surging energy costs, a draft
decree seen by Reuters showed on Tuesday. The rest is due by
November.
    Under the scheme, a 25% levy applies to profit margins that
rose by more than 5 million euros between October last year and
April this year compared to the same period a year earlier, with
the exception of companies whose profit margin rose by less than
10%.
    Italy expects to raise 10.5 billion euros this year from the
measure, the document showed.
