Australia's QEM rises on fundraise to support Queensland project

** Shares of QEM Ltd  QEM.AX  rise as much as 8.3% to
A$0.195 - set for best day since May 5, if current gains hold
    ** Mineral explorer says it has received firm commitments to
raise A$2.72 mln ($1.85 mln) via placement
    ** Co says funds from placement will support ongoing
development of its Julia Creek Vanadium and Oil Shale Project in
Queensland
    ** QEM stock at its highest level since June 14
    ** Stock flat YTD, as of last close
