** Shares of Rapid Critical Metals RCM.AX rise as much as 64.7% to A$0.056, their biggest intraday pct gain since February 13

** Stock at its highest level since February 28

** The miner announces placement of A$14 million ($9.35 million) at an issue price of A$0.035 per share

** Issue price at a premium of 2.9% to stock's last closing

** Funds from placement to be used to fund co's acquisition of Webbs Consol Project from ASX-listed Lode Resources LDR.AX
** Around 66.3 million shares change hands, 14.9x the 30-day average
** Stock down 11.7% this year, including the day's move
