- After a year of prolonged negotiations marked by several dramatic twists and turns, the Canadian retailer Alimentation Couche-Tard ATD.TO said it was abandoning its multi-billion dollar bid to acquire the owner of 7-Eleven 3382.T convenience stores.

- Indonesia's president, Prabowo Subianto, confirmed on Wednesday the broad outlines of a trade agreement with the United States under which U.S. exports to Indonesia would face no tariffs, while Indonesian goods would be charged a tariff of 19% in the United States.

- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had spoken to the Coca-Cola KO.N Company about using "REAL cane sugar in Coke" in the United States and that the company had agreed to begin adding it.
