Japan's SUMCO to issue $1.1 bln in new shares to produce more silicon wafers
TOKYO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Japan's SUMCO Corp 3436.T said
on Thursday it would raise up to 128 billion yen ($1.14 billion)
by issuing new shares to fund the expansion of domestic
production facilities for silicon wafers, which have been in
short supply globally.
The company is also considering boosting wafer production in
Taiwan, SUMCO's chief executive said in an online briefing.
