Translogik Probe Used by Bosch in its new 'Connected Workshop' System

Transense Technologies plc (AIM: TRT), the provider of sensor systems for the transportation and industrial markets, is pleased to announce that Translogik, its tyre management solutions division, has had its Wireless Tyre Inspection Probe integrated into the new 'Connected Workshop' system from Bosch Automotive Service Solutions ("Bosch").

The cloud-based, tablet driven system, has two components, 'Entrance Check' and 'Connected Repair', which are linked to allow vehicle information and test results to be shared across workshop equipment, workshop users and the customer. The probe will be used at the 'Entrance Check' level, a 5-minute vehicle health check which includes tread depth and tyre pressure measurements. The system supports OEM and Aftermarket customers globally. More detail on the Connected Workshop system is given below.

Graham Storey, CEO of Transense said: 'We are delighted to have been selected by an automotive industry leader like Bosch to provide an important tool as part of its ongoing vision for a 'connected workshop'. The use of accurate, wireless inspection tools will allow Bosch to drive additional revenue generation through efficiency gains, while helping to develop stronger customer relationships through improved information quality and service levels. This is yet another strong endorsement of the quality and commercial value of Translogik's tyre inspection products.'

About Connected Workshop

Using this solution, a service centre reception can, in under 4 minutes, provide a vehicle health check and identify any additional service or repair with an easy to understand report, either direct with the customer before they leave or emailed for their immediate attention in order to:

Build Trust: a consistent vehicle health check provides data to the customer before the vehicle enters the workshop and facilitates obtaining customer approval before any service or repair tasks.

Identify additional revenue opportunities: the system identifies potential issues with tyres, battery, brakes, alignment or Direct Torque Control driven repairs upfront, that can be handled conveniently for the customer - so there are no surprises with the bill.

Provide faster inspection and repair: By creating a job card, obtaining vehicle information and seamlessly providing this information to all equipment, test results are collected automically within the tablet report - there is no need to re-enter manual information on each tool.

Enable efficient workshop planning: the system ensures that the workshop can perform all tasks and confirms the vehicle return time with the customer - again avoiding surprises or inconvenience for the customer.

What does it do?

A job card is created, any vehicle type is identified and this information is sent to the relevant inspection equipment. The vehicle health check is performed and using the tablet-based report, customer approval is obtained for any service or repair task. Required service or repair tasks are performed with vehicle information and task completion recorded on the report.

How does it work?

The solution links equipment with technology to:

Identify the vehicle

Perform an Entrance Check

Review results with the customer

Perform the needed service / repair

- Re-check the vehicle

- Return the vehicle to the customer

The process steps and equipment are flexible, the solution can be extended and grow with a dealership's needs.
