Initial 'OptiTread' order for Snap-On Equipment Sales Representatives

Transense Technologies plc (AIM: TRT), the provider of sensor systems for the transportation and industrial markets, is pleased to announce that its trading division, Translogik, has received an order for 220 Tyre Inspection Probes from its US partner, Squarerigger, for use in its Opti-Tread Car Tyre Audit System. This initial order of systems will be supplied to Squarerigger's distributor, Snap-on Equipment, to serve as product demonstrators and initial inventory for its North American sales network.

Graham Storey, Transense Group CEO, stated: "The systems simplicity, speed of operation and ease-of-use has attracted strong interest from across the auto dealership and tyre reseller markets. Early adopters of the system are witnessing significant sales uplift for both tyres and related services. We believe the compelling return on investment being demonstrated by these early adopters will result in rapid industry uptake of the system."

About Opti-Tread

The OptiTread system is designed for vehicle service centres, providing rapid electronic data on tyre condition that enables them to increase sales and ensure that customers' tyres are optimally maintained for performance and safety. The Translogik tyre probe forms an integral part of the process that generates an automated graphical report on overall tyre condition. The service centre provides this report to the customer, highlighting potential tyre issues such as excessive wear or incorrect pressures, that if not dealt with, could lead to reduced tyre life.
