New Zealand's Warehouse Group rises on upbeat HY results

** Shares of Warehouse Group WHS.NZ rise as much as 6.2% to NZ$0.690, logging their best day since July 1

** The general merchandise dealer says interim group sales for the first half were NZ$1.61 billion ($927.68 million), up 0.3% from year-ago period

** Adds, operating profit was NZ$26.9 million, higher than NZ$19.5 million reported a year ago

** Stock down 4.8% this year, including the day's move
