Wide Gold and Copper Zones Identified at Red Setter
Wishbone Gold Plc is pleased to announce that the latest assay results of the on-going drill programme at its Red Setter project have identified wide zones of gold and copper mineralisation. These are important results and materially support the Company's view that there is significant mineralisation at shallower depths at Red Setter.
Red Setter is located 20km south-west of Greatland Resources Ltd (AIM and ASX: GGP) Telfer gold mine, and 50km east of Cyprium Metals Ltd's (ASX: CYM) Nifty copper mine.
Red Setter is one of multiple gold and copper targets that Wishbone has within its 628km2 tenement package (including the recently registered Havieron South-East E 45/7348 application tenement which covers 118 km2) that lies within a c.45 km radius of the Telfer mine (see Figure 1).
Noteworthy recent assay results received from Red Setter (see Figure 5) include:
· 14.4m @ 0.81 g/t Au following on from 4m @ 1.3g/t Au
· 11.6m @ 0.70 g/t Au with 4.6m @ 1.31 g/t Au
· 9.5m @ 0.77 g/t Au with 3.5m @ 1.27g/t Au
· 7m @ 2.0 g/t Au
· 12m @ 0.15% Cu
· 3m @ 0.51% Cu within a wider 7m @ 0.26% Cu
Wishbone recognises that the publication of these results has taken longer than expected with the main reason for the delay caused by the volume of core being processed, commercial geochemistry laboratory backlogs, and the multi-step processing and rigorous quality control requirements of the assay testing process. There is a large backlog of exploration results to come through and the Company expects more findings to made known in the coming weeks though multi-element assays (which also include the copper assays) are expected back more slowly - these results are key when looking at combined gold and copper intercepts (See Figure 5). For the 2026 drill campaign to date over 11,317 metres of samples have been dispatched for assay testing.
As mentioned in the announcement on 22 June 2026, Wishbone initially designed a 25 hole reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling programme of approximately 9,000 metres to follow up on the encouraging 2025 assay results and to test extensions of the mineralised system. Following the shallow gold discovery the programme was extended and modified to target this gold.
In the 2026 drill campaign to date, Wishbone has drilled 40 holes for 12,606 metres, covering 5,109 metres of RC and 7,497 metres of diamond drilling. The team at Red Setter has made significant progress (See Table 1 in Appendix) with drill metre rates averaging 52m per day for diamond drilling, based off a decision to utilise RC for pre-collars, followed by diamond core tails, targeting depths of up to 650 metres. Thus far 35 RC holes as pre-collars for the diamond drilling have been completed, and gold assays have been returned for the first 15 RC holes and 12 diamond tails (see Table 2 for previously announced significant RC gold intercepts and Table 3 for new RC and diamond drilling intercepts and Table 4 for new copper intercepts).
Ed Mead, Wishbone Gold WA director, commented:
"The potential of Red Setter is really starting to come together. These significant gold and copper findings underscore our view that there is significant mineralisation at shallower depths at Red Setter. The results are even more relevant when you consider that Telfer's current production grades are significantly lower than the drilling results we have announced. For comparison purposes, Telfer processed 5.19Mt at a head grade of 0.53 g/t gold and 0.08% Cu in its June 2026 quarter[1], meaning several of our Red Setter intercepts already grade well above Telfer's current plant feed. We still have a very large backlog of exploration results to work through, as we continue to advance what is proving to be a very exciting project."
