If you read the Daily Stock Market Report, you'll know how much ground it covers each morning. Until now, if you wanted one company's write-up, you had to open the day's report and scroll down to find it. And the comments on every company ended up in one long thread. Last year's comment filter helped, but we wanted to do better.

So from today, every company we write up in full gets its own page. You'll still find them all together in the morning report, but each write-up now has a home of its own, with its own conversation.

Now you can jump straight to the companies you follow, keep up with a discussion on its own, and find past write-ups more easily.

The Daily Stock Market Report is still your starting point

Under the summary table, you'll now find analyst write-up listed with its rating, so you can see at a glance where to start. Click View analysis to open one.

This gives each company more room for its own conversation, with the analysis and comments together in one place. You can follow the companies you care about, while the daily report keeps the full picture.

  • On the daily report, comment as you always have. Tag a company with "@", and your comment also shows on that company's write-up.
  • On a write-up, just comment. Your comment also shows on that day's report, with no tag needed.

You'll still be notified of replies, wherever they're posted.

See our view at a glance

Each write-up now opens with our analyst's view: a short summary of what we think and why, with our colour rating next to it.

  • Green: well-financed, trading well, with positive momentum and reasonably priced for the quality on offer. We reserve it for genuine conviction.
  • Amber/green: often a good business but expensive, or a moderately good one at a reasonable price.
  • Amber: average or unremarkable, with no strong view either way.
  • Amber/red: negative momentum, with a risk of further warnings or deterioration.
  • Red: an existential risk, such as insolvency, accounting concerns or an unsustainable business model.

These are editorial opinions, not investment recommendations.

Next to each rating, an arrow shows how our view has moved since we last covered the company: ↑ if it has improved, ↓ if it has worsened. A dash means our view is unchanged, or that this is the first time we've rated the company since the start of 2025.

Alongside the write-up, you'll also see the company's StockRanks, share price and chart, so the numbers sit next to the analysis.

Go straight to a company from the StockReport

You could always reach our analysis from a StockReport. But the conversation was hard to find: the analysis sat deep in a long report, and the comments could feel disconnected from it.

From today, each new write-up shows on the company's Discussion tab and as a flag on its chart. One click, and you read the analysis, with the comments under it. So it's easy to catch up on a company.

Keep the conversation going

The daily report is still the town hall for the day's conversation. But the town hall moves on every morning, and its conversation moves on with it. From now each time we cover a company, we publish a new write-up, with its own page and its own comments. A write-up doesn't move on the next morning, so its conversation can carry on for longer.

When there's news on a company after the daily report has moved on, its latest write-up is the place to share what you know. If you've never commented before, a smaller conversation about one company may feel like an easier place to start than the busy daily report.

We hope these changes make it easier to find the companies you care about, and easier to talk about them. As always – safe investing!
