SEOUL, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Shares in South Korean battery parts maker EnChem Co. 348370.KQ rose 14% in Seoul trading on Friday after a media report that the company had won an order from Chinese battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. 300750.SZ.
Korea Economic Daily reported on Thursday that EnChem will provide 70,000 metric tons of electrolyte annually to a global battery cell maker between 2026 and 2030, citing the company. The newspaper said the customer was CATL without citing anyone.
A spokesperson at EnChem declined to comment on the identity of the customer.
