Grupa Pracuj's quarterly profit rises 20% driven by Poland and Ukraine
Grupa Pracuj's quarterly profit rises 20% driven by Poland and Ukraine Aug 25 (Reuters) - Polish recruitment company Grupa Pracuj GPPP.WA reported a 20% rise in its second-quarter net profit to 65.6 million zlotys ($18 million) on Tuesday, driven by revenue growth in its core Polish and Ukrainian markets, but missed analyst expectations by 5 million zlotys.
Grupa Pracuj, which also provides HR software, is navigating mixed economic conditions across its main markets, with a relatively stable labour market in Poland and a resilient Ukrainian market contrasting with a weaker hiring environment in Germany.
Q2 EBITDA was 94.9 million zlotys and topped analysts' 92 million zloty forecast in a Reuters poll.
The company cited higher volume of recruitment projects and increased average prices on its Polish platform Pracuj.pl, and higher pricing on its Ukrainian site Robota.ua.
Demand recovered across key Polish segments, including first signs of a rebound in IT recruitment.
In Ukraine, a structural shortage of candidates has increased the importance of effective recruitment tools despite the war, the company said.
Revenue from the German segment fell 9.3%, as "historically low" demand for new employees affected services in the region, it added.
While its software division is growing mainly organically, Grupa Pracuj is open to acquisitions complementing its HR technology offering, CEO Przemyslaw Gacek said.
