PRESIDENTIAL VETO
Ukraine's access to Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink could be cut due to the Polish president's veto of a refugee aid bill, a Polish deputy prime minister said on Monday, as a conflict between the government and head of state deepens.
GRUPA PRACUJ
Polish recruitment services provider Grupa Pracuj GPPP.WA on Tuesday reported a 15% fall in net profit compared with the previous quarter, reflecting stagnation in its core domestic market despite low national unemployment.
CHANGES AT STATE TREASURY COMPANIES
The new Minister of State Assets said he expects changes to the management and supervisory boards of state-owned companies, but announced that it will not be a "major revolution," Parkiet daily reported.
TAX INCREASES
Deputy Finance Minister Jarosław Neneman said that tax increases planned for 2026 will generate a total of approximately 10 billion zlotys ($2.75 billion) in additional budget revenue. Changes to banking taxes are expected to generate the most revenue, Puls Biznesu daily reported.
SHIPMENTS TO THE U.S.
As of Monday, the Polish Post Office has suspended accepting parcels of goods to the U.S. This is a result of the U.S. president's abolition of customs duty exemptions for parcels worth up to 800 dollars, Gazeta Wyborcza daily reported.
DATA
On Tuesday at 0800, the Polish Statistical Office will release unemployment data for July, which, according to analysts surveyed by Reuters, rose to 5.4% from 5.2% in June.
