POLITICS
Judges at the International Criminal Court are investigating
whether Italy's release of a Libyan military officer wanted for
war crimes by the tribunal breaches the court's statute, a court
spokesperson said on Monday.
ECONOMY
Bank of Italy releases December data on Italian residents'
deposits with domestic banks, banks lending to non-financial
companies and gross bad loans at Italian banks.
DEBT
The Italian Treasury said on Monday it would sell up to 5.75
billion euros ($5.93 billion) of 3-year and 7-year BTP bonds at
an auction on Feb. 13.
The Treasury also said would soon be selling a new
syndicated 15-year BTP bond due on October 1, 2040.
COMPANIES

The Italian lender on Tuesday posted better than expected
2024 earnings and said it aimed to keep profit stable this year
despite declining rates, promising to increase shareholder
rewards in 2025-2027.

The holding of the Del Vecchio family, Delfin, is exploring
the possibility of selling its 2.7% stake in UniCredit, the
Corriere della Sera newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing
banking sources.

The Italian insurance group is considering selling its
hotels chain Una Hotels, expecting to raise about 1 billion
euros ($1.03 billion) from the deal, Il Sole 24 Ore daily
reported on Tuesday.
MEDIOBANCA MDBI.MI
The Italian bank on Monday beat expectations with its
quarterly earnings and improved its outlook for its next
financial year as it seeks to fend off an unsolicited bid from
smaller rival Banca Monte dei Paschi BMPS.MI .

Italy's Mediobanca is likely to file its own slate of
candidates for the insurer's board renewal, CEO Alberto Nagel
said, adding his bank wanted to help to name a leadership able
of steering Generali through its new strategy.

BAMI.MI
Italy's national post office said on Monday said it would
tender its 12% stake in fund manager Anima Holding under a
buyout offer launched by the lender Banco BPM, provided the
latter increases the bid's value.
TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
Italy's competition authority said on Monday it had cut by a
quarter an antitrust fine that had been slapped on the phone
group in 2020, to 87 million euros from 116 million euros. The
fine was issued in relation to alleged anti-competitive
behaviour against Open Fiber.
(*) The board of the phone group is set to approve on
Wednesday an amendment to its bylaws under which to submit a
list for the board of directors and auditors a 1% share of the
capital will be required, from the previous 0.5%, and 1.5% of
the votes, daily Il Messaggero said on Tuesday.

Vaar Energi VAR.OL , the Norwegian subsidiary of the
Italian oil and gas company, on Tuesday raised its dividend
while reporting a fourth-quarter operating profit in line with
expectations.

The Italian bank on Tuesday posted an operating income of
112.8 million euros in the fourth quarter 2024.
