POLITICS (*) Poland scrambled its own and NATO air defences to shoot down drones in its airspace on Wednesday after a Russian air attack on Ukraine, marking the first time that Warsaw has got involved in the war in its neighbouring nation as it called the violation an act of aggression. ECONOMY ISTAT releases July industrial output data (0800 GMT) and bulletin on the state of the economy in July and August (0900 GMT). DEBT Treasury sells 12-month BOT bills. COMPANIES ENI ENI.MI The Italian energy group aims to supply the Far East market for liquefied natural gas through a joint venture it is setting up with Malaysia's Petronas, top executives at the Italian energy group said on Tuesday. Turkish state energy company BOTAS signed a three-year deal with Italy's ENI for a total of 1.5 bcm of LNG to be delivered to Turkey, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on Tuesday. PIRELLI PIRC.MI The United States has intensified pressure on Italy in a over the tyremaker, warning, in a July letter to Rome, that a Chinese state-owned company as lead investor would likely conflict with U.S. rules on connected vehicles, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter. FERRARI RACE.MI The Italian luxury sports car maker on Tuesday completed a refresh of its hybrid range with the new 849 Testarossa sportscar, a tribute to the famous original Testarossa model of the 1980s. The new vehicle will also be available in a retractable-top 'spider' version. (*) WEBUILD WBD.MI Ethiopia officially inaugurated Africa's largest hydroelectric dam on Tuesday, a project that will provide energy to millions while deepening a rift with downstream Egypt that has unsettled the region. The infrastructure was designed and built by the Italian construction group. The dam will double the country's energy capacity, allowing energy exports to Sudan, Djibouti, Tanzania and Yemen, Webuild CEO Pietro Salini told daily Corriere della Sera in an interview published on Wednesday.
