ECONOMY Italy's economy will likely grow by 0.6% this year, in line with the government's target, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Sunday. ENERGY Italy could fail to meet carbon emission reduction targets agreed at the European Union level due to delays in key green transition areas, including renewable power generation and energy storage systems, a study showed on Saturday. Gas storage levels in Europe are "good", Italian Energy Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin said on Saturday, adding that his own country was close to the 90% target set by the European Union. Italy's Treasury said on Friday it would sell 9 billion euros in BOT bills at th auction of September 10 COMPANIES STELLANTIS STLAM.MI The new chief executive of carmaker Stellantis, Antonio Filosa, has urged the European Union to show flexibility on the transition to electric vehicles in order to protect the auto industry. (*) Italian Industry Minister Adolfo Urso is expected to meet Filosa on Monday to discuss Stellantis' investment plans in Italy. Government subsidies for electric cars, initially expected to be made available in late September, could be delayed by a month or a month and a half, Italian Energy Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin told news agency Ansa on Saturday. Chrysler owner Stellantis is recalling 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles in the U.S. due to a software error within the hybrid control processor, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Saturday. The error may result in a loss of drive power, it added. BANCO BPM BAMI.MI In a tie-up between Banco BPM and the Italian unit of Credit Agricole, the French bank could end up holding a 35% stake in BPM if the latter bought Credit Agricole Italia at a valuation of 5.5 billion euros, and paid for it in part through shares in Anima and its stake in their Agos Ducato consumer credit joint-venture, la Repubblica reported on Saturday. The paper said it would be difficult to limit the stake further and it remained to be seen whether the Italian government would approve the deal. BANCA MONTE PASCHI DI SIENA BMPS.MI, MEDIOBANCA MDBI.MI MPS has secured 45.8% of Mediobanca's share capital, bourse data showed on Friday, from 40.4% of the previous day. BANCA MEDIOLANUM BMED.MI The Italian asset manager plans to expand its presence in Spain, aiming to have at least 25% of its total assets under management in the country, General Manager Igor Garzesi was quoted as saying by Il Sole 24 Ore on Saturday. Banca Mediolanum is not pursuing growth through acquisitions, he added. ENEL ENEI.MI Energy Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin said on Saturday Italy was not ready to dismantle coal-fired plants in continental Italy by year-end, as previously planned, singling out Enel plants in Civitavecchia and Brindisi. EDISON EDNn.MI The Italian energy group is ready to be listed back on the Milan bourse if its parent company, French utility EDF, so decides, Edison's chief executive said on Saturday.
