Australia's Tabcorp leaps after BetMakers bids $3.1 bln for its wagering unit

** Shares of Australian betting firm Tabcorp Holdings
 TAH.AX  rise 3% to A$5.21 in early trade after it received a
proposal from BetMakers Technology Group  BET.AX 
    ** BET, Australian wagering platform operator, offered A$4
bln ($3.10 bln) for TAH's wagering and media business

    ** BET shares down 6.6% at A$1.5 in early trade
    ** TAH says it has not yet formed a view on merits of the
proposal and assess it in context of previously announced

    ** TAH had earlier received bids from British sports betting
firm Entain  ENT.L  and U.S.-based investment manager Apollo
Management  APO.N  for the business
    ** TAH up 29.7% this year and BET more than doubled as of
