“A stock I follow has had a jump in its StockRank, does that mean anything?” It's one of the questions we're asked most often - and this Thursday, Ed answers it properly with a live webinar on one of our best research studies yet. To go with it, we've released the tools to find these movers for yourself.
New Rank Change ratios in the screener
We’ve added a new set of Change in Rank ratios that measure how a stock’s rank has moved over the last 1 day, 1 week and 30 days. They’re available for the StockRank itself as well as the Quality, Value and Momentum Ranks and their combinations (QV, QM and VM) - and you can use them anywhere you’d use any other ratio, starting with rules in the screener.
That means you can now build screens such as:
Find me high StockRank stocks where the StockRank and Quality Rank have jumped by 10 points over the last week
by using the Change in Ranks rules as shown in the video below:

If you want to do the opposite and find those that have fallen by 10, simply flip the rule to ‘less than -10’.
Spot which of your stocks are on the move in your tables
They make great table columns too. Add them to your screen results, portfolios or watchlist tables to see at a glance which of your stocks are on the move. You can also add the historic rank values themselves, so you can see exactly where a stock has come from as well as where it is now.

You’ll find them all in the ratio picker alongside the existing rank ratios.

A reminder: rank changes on the StockReport
While we’re on the subject, here’s a feature you may not have spotted: hovering over the directional arrows next to a stock’s ranks on the StockReport shows you the 30-day change - a quick way to check whether a stock’s rank is on the move before digging deeper.

And talking of rank jumps… join Ed live this Thursday
Ed has spent recent weeks on Stockopedia’s best research study yet - going back through our entire point-in-time StockRank archive to measure what really happens after a stock jumps up the ranks, across 5,902 UK rank jumps since 2013.
He’ll be presenting the findings in a live webinar, The StockRanks Jump Effect, this Thursday 23 July, 5pm-6pm London time - including what the evidence says about catching re-ratings early, and how to put it to work with the new Rank Change ratios. There’s a live Q&A too, so bring your hardest questions.
Register for the webinar here - we hope to see you there.
