Argus SA is a Romania-based company primarily engaged in the manufacture of vegetable oil. The Company’s vegetable oils, made of sunflower seeds, are known under such brands as Argus, Tomis and Sora Soarelui. The Company also produces fodder groats for animal breeding and fatty acids utilized in the cosmetic industry. The Company distributes its products nationally through the chains of cash and carry stores and hypermarkets. It operates through numerous subsidiaries, such as MeralPrice.com. On June 14, 2013, Societatea de Investitii Financiare Oltenia SA acquired Argus SA; as a result of the transaction Societatea de Investitii Financiare Oltenia SA holds 55.7% stake in Argus SA. It absorbed Rex Agra SRL.
