Societatea Nationala de Transport Gaze Naturale Transgaz SA (Transgaz SA) is a Romania-based company engaged in the natural gas transportation. The Company's primary activities are the domestic transportation and international transit of natural gas. The Company is also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Romanian national gas transportation system. Additionally, it is involved in the research and design activities in the field of equipment for the natural gas industry. Through affiliated company, Nabucco Gas Pipeline International Gmbh, Transgaz SA is also engaged in the construction of a gas pipeline from Turkey to Austria. On July 9, 2013, the Ministry of Economy in Romania transferred a 58.50% stake of Societatea Nationala de Transport Gaze Naturale Transgaz SA to the Romanian Public Finance Ministry. On Frebruary 2014, Romanian Public Finance Ministry transferred 58.50% stake of the Company to the Romanian Government General Secretariat.
