The Company, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the production of oil and natural gas, the acquisition of producing oil and natural gas properties, and the contract drilling of onshore oil and natural gas wells. It operates over 14 onshore drilling rigs in various regions throughout the United States. Its segments consist of oil and natural gas and contract drilling. The Oil and Natural Gas segment is operated by its subsidiary, Unit Petroleum Company, which develops, acquires, and produces oil and natural gas properties for its own account. Its producing oil and natural gas properties, unproved properties, and related assets are primarily located in Oklahoma and Texas. The Contract Drilling segment is operated out by its subsidiary, Unit Drilling Company, which drills onshore oil and natural gas wells for a range of other oil and natural gas companies. Its drilling operations are located in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico.
