Profile Summary
Altech Batteries Limited, formerly Altech Chemicals Limited, is an Australia-based specialty battery materials technology company. The Company is engaged in the development of a 10,000 tons per annum (tpa) silicon graphite anode plant in the state of Saxony, Germany, using its alumina coating technology. The battery technology uses table salt and is lithium-free; cobalt-free; graphite-free; and copper-free. The Company’s principal activities include the establishment of a research and development laboratory in Perth, Western Australia as a facility for the further development of its methods for the alumina coating of graphite and silicon particles, typical of those used within the anode of a lithium-ion battery. It has a joint venture agreement to commercialize the CERENERGY Sodium Alumina Solid State (SAS) Battery. The Company is also focused on construction and operation of a 4,500 tpa high purity alumina (HPA) processing plant at Johor, Malaysia.
