Profile Summary
Sapmer SA is a France-based company primarily engaged in the catching and processing of fish and crayfish. The Company provides various kinds of fish, including striped trumpeter, skate, southern toothfish, big eye grenadier and yellow fin tuna, as well as St. Paul crayfish and others. It fishes in the waters of French southern and Antarctic territories, as well as Indian Ocean. Sapmer SA operates through its subsidiaries: Les Armements Reunionnais SAS, specialized in fishing; Armement Sapmer Distribution SARL, engaged in the distribution activities; Armas Peche SAS, which operates the Mascareignes II vessel, engaged in toothfish catch, and 35% of the Austral vessel, engaged in lobster catch, Soparma SAS, an investment entity, and Mer des Mascareignes Ltd, engaged in the processing and conditioning of seafood. As of December 31, 2011, SAPMER INVESTISSEMENTS held an 80% stake in the Company’s shareholdings.
