Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited is an India-based fully integrated iron and steel company. The Company is focused on iron ore exploration, mining, and processing in India and West Africa. Its segments include Iron Ore and Steel. The Iron ore segment consists of mining, processing and trading of iron ore, including its logistics & marketing services. The Steel segment consists of manufacturing of steel, Ductile Iron (DI) pipes, pig iron and metallurgical coke. It is also engaged in production of wire rods, TMT bars, Ferrosilicon, and cement. Its key businesses include Sesa Iron Ore, ESL Steel Ltd, and Western Cluster Limited. Its DI pipes are made from ductile iron and are used for water supply and pressure sewerage applications. Its wire rods are long, semifinished steel products that are produced by hot rolling of billets and used in the engineering, construction, power and automobile industries. Its steel billets are semifinished steel in the form of metal bars.
