Profile Summary
Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited is an India-based fully integrated iron and steel company. The Company is focused on iron ore exploration, mining, and processing in India and West Africa. It is engaged in production of steel, wire rods, TMT bars, pig iron, Ductile Iron (DI) Pipes, Ferrosilicon, cement and metallurgical coke. The Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary ESL Steel Ltd, produces over 1.5 million tonnes of steel per year at its greenfield steel plant at Bokaro. Its key businesses include Sesa Iron Ore, ESL Steel Ltd, and Western Cluster Limited. It is also engaged in industrial activities, such as marketing, production, and technological development. Its DI pipes are made from ductile iron and are used for water supply and pressure sewerage applications. Its wire rods are long, semifinished steel products that are produced by hot rolling of billets and used in the engineering, construction, power and automobile industries. It operates in Goa, Karnataka and Odisha.
