The Company is a coal producer, providing energy for the agri-business sector, schools, and hospitals. The Company operates two mines on the South Island: Stockton (north of Westport), and Takitimu (north of Invercargill). The Company holds a 65% interest in Stockton (north of Westport). The Company operates Maramarua and Rotowaro in the Waikato region of the North Island. The Company’s Cascade and Escarpment mines are near Westport. Its Cascade mine is located on Denniston Plateau, approximately 25 kilometers (km) east of Westport. The Company operates through three segments: Export, Domestic, and Corporate. Its subsidiaries include BR Coal Pty Limited, Bathurst New Zealand Limited, Buller Coal Limited, Bathurst Coal Limited, and Bathurst Minerals Limited.
