Profile Summary
MERF Inc, formerly Kurotani Corp is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in non-ferrous metals and arts and crafts businesses. The Company operates its business through two segments. The Nonferrous Metals business segment is engaged in the production and sale of ingots and the processing and sale of recycled raw materials as a nonferrous metals-related business with a focus on copper. The core ingot products include those used as raw materials for ship screws and those sold mainly to the housing industry. Recycled raw materials include pica wire and red nuggets sold mainly to manufacturers of electric wire, copper sheet and strip, copper tubing, and copper foil, as well as copper scrap and copper tailings sold to copper smelters. The Arts and Crafts segment manufactures and sells arts and crafts, with precious metal figurines, Buddhist statues, and Buddhist altar fittings being the main items sold.
