Profile Summary
West Japan Railway Co is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the provision of passenger railway transportation services. The Company has four business segments. The Mobility segment is involved in the railway business, passenger automobile transportation business, and ship business. The Company operates in the Hokuriku, Kinki, Chugoku, and northern Kyushu areas, and is engaged in intercity transportation using Shinkansen and conventional express trains. It also operates construction and cleaning and maintenance businesses. The Distribution segment operates department stores, as well as retail and food services at major stations. The Real Estate segment sells and rents real estate using its real estate holdings, as well as operates shopping centers and hotels. The Travel and Regional Solutions segment is involved in travel and regional solutions. It also operates advertising, civil engineering and construction consulting, spatial information consulting, and information services.
